Specialty care throughout the province

The first authority of its kind in Canada, the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) is responsible for managing the quality, coordination, accessibility and cost of selected province-wide health care programs and services. With more than 10,000 employees and an annual budget of over $1 billion, the PHSA is home to many talented and dedicated health care professionals and administrative staff who are focused on providing solutions that lead to better health throughout the province.

The PHSA is made up of specialty health care agencies that have a mandate to deliver high quality, specialized patient care for British Columbians.

In addition, the PHSA coordinates a number of state-of-the-art provincial specialty programs and services. These programs are mainly based in our agencies, but are also provided through partnerships with regional health authorities.
